Pinpointing the monetary-financial problems Greek investment banks have been facing accumulatively for a number of years as well as the way in which they should be handled at the phase of the transformation processes which are taking place in the context of the European convergence but also of the money and capital markets release are the objects of this paper. On the basis of the economic data referring to a long chronological period, the most frequently used profitability rations are investigated and a critical analysis of investment banks' monetary-financial situation is attempted in relation to the redefinition of their roles in the face of the alterations occurring in the international monetary-financial environment in this work. In this study, presenting analytically the approach process in terms of issues in part is carried out and drawing useful conclusions about the way in which monetary-financial crises affecting investment banks should be faced is performed.
