Στην εργασία παρουσιάζονται τα προβολικά συστήματα που εφαρμόστηκαν στον ελληνικό χώρο για τη δημιουργία χαρτογραφικής υποδομήςαπό την ίδρυση ανεξάρτητου ελληνικού κράτους μέχρι σήμερα. Η στόχευση της εργασίας είναι διπλή. Πρώτον, επιχειρείται η σκιαγράφησητων χαρακτηριστικών των προβολικών συστημάτων, ως συνιστώσες των κρατικών συστημάτων γεωγραφικής αναφοράς που θεσμοθετήθηκανκαι εφαρμόστηκαν. Δεύτερον, διερευνώνται κρίσιμα ερωτήματα αναφορικά με την επιλογή συγκεκριμένων χαρακτηριστικών των εν λόγω προ-βολικών συστημάτων και παράλληλα επιχειρείται η ερμηνεία τους σε σχέση με τις τεχνολογικές εξελίξεις της υπό μελέτη περιόδου.
