Abstract:
Ο τρόπος με τον οποίο οι μετανάστες και οι απόγονοί τους μπορούν να αποτελέσουν κομμάτι –προσωρινό ή μόνιμο– των κοινωνιών υποδοχής έχει αναχθεί σε επίκαιρο ζήτημα. Αναπόφευκτα η «ενσωμάτωση» ή η ένταξη των μεταναστών στις σύγχρονες κοινωνίες υποδοχής είναι μια δύσκολη όσο και περίπλοκη διαδικασία, η οποία αφορά τους μετανάστες ως άτομα αλλά και ως κοινότητες/ομάδες. Η σύγχρονη εμπειρία δείχνει ότι συχνά οι μετανάστες εντάσσονται ως ένα βαθμό στις κοινωνίες υποδοχής, καθώς καλύπτουν συγκεκριμένες θέσεις στην αγορά εργασίας ανάλογα με την εθνικότητα και το φύλο τους. Οι περισσότερο ειδικευμένοι μετανάστες ευνοούνται από τις πολιτικές των ευρωπαϊκών κοινωνιών υποδοχής, ενώ οι ανειδίκευτοι και/ή λιγότερο ειδικευμένοι θεωρούνται ανεπιθύμητοι. Παρόλα αυτά και οι δύο κατηγορίες μεταναστών συνεισφέρουν θετικά στις αγορές εργασίας. Στόχος του παρόντος κειμένου είναι η μελέτη της κοινωνικής και επαγγελματικής κινητικότητας των μεταναστών στις τοπικές αγορές εργασίας, λαμβάνοντας παράλληλα υπόψη την υφιστάμενη οικονομική κρίση. Το κείμενο τελικά καταλήγει σε ορισμένα συμπεράσματα σχετικά με τις υφιστάμενες δυνατότητες για την κοινωνική και επαγγελματική κινητικότητα των μεταναστών στις τοπικές αγορές εργασίας.
