Η εργασία διερευνά τις χωρικές επιπτώσεις από τις τάσεις «μητροπολεοποίησης» στην Πόλη του Μεξικού και στην Κωνσταντινούπολη. Φωτίζει τους μηχανισμούς διαμόρφωσης των αστικών τοπίων και χρησιμοποιεί συγκριτική ανάλυση που βασίζεται στη λεγόμενη «οικο-τοπιακή» προσέγγιση. Χρησιμοποιεί τηλεπισκόπηση σε συγκεκριμένες περιοχές και ενδεικτικούς επιτόπιους ελέγχους.
