The education of the Greek community of Istanbul (Constantinople), as it evolved and was reshaped in the last four decades of the twentieth century

The article is based on a study conducted in 1995, and concisely records the process of changes in the middle and high schools, in the primary schools and the kindergartens of the Greek community of Istanbul, from 1949 to 1996. Special mention is given to the Turkish deputy principals, to teachers from the Greek community, to those sent from Greece, to the Turkish teachers, and to the Greek and Turkish textbooks. The study is concluded with a comprehensive table showing the number of pupils at our primary, middle and high schools, from 1949 to 1996
