Abstract:
The modern Greek poet Constantine Kavafis, in a poem entitled «Young people of Sidon, in the year of our Lord 400» criticizes the ancient Greek poet Aeschyle who was a very great tragic poet because he is pround of his participation in the battle of Marathon (490 B.C.) and Salamis (480 B.C.) and in no way makes a mention of his wonderful presentation in the area of tragic poetry. In the writer's opinion Constantine Kavafis is right to say that ancient poet is wrong not making such a mention. In accordance with these the ancient epigram would be more entire if it also included the poetic fame of Aeschyle.
