This study constitutes the premier appearance of M. Karagatsis as a dramatist. Karagatsis is well-known as one of the most important Greek authos of the 30‘s and as a theatre critic as well. A research in his personal Archive revealed a number o f plays, which elucidate his work and also his personality.This, until lately, unkown work constits o f fourteen titles: Χειμέριο, Η αληθινή ιστορία του Λαερτίδη, 'Ονειρα μπροστά στο θάνατο. Αιώνια Ελλάδα, Μπαρ Ελντοράντο, Κάρμεν η χιτάνα, Οργή, Βασιλική, Χταποδάκια, ο Μέρας Κριτής, η Βασιλεομήτωρ, Ο κίτρινος φάκελος A , Adeila Vitti, Εγωισμοί. Two of these plays have already been stages (Μπαρ Ελντοράντο, 1946,Κάρμεν η χιτάνα, 1948) and another one has been published (‘Ονειρα μπροστά στο θάνατο, 1944). The plays are appended in a chronological order, and each record comprises as detailed presentation of each manuscript. The plays that are not dated are followed by some suppositions as to their dating. Elements regarding the background of each play as well as summary o f the myth are presented shortly. Finally, here appears the first buplishing of the one act drama Χταποδάκια.
