A cist-grave of the cemetery of the ancient Macedonian city, Mieza, was discovered at Kopanos of Naousa in 1989. It was a young girl’s grave with rich grave goods: it contained fourteen clay vases (perfume-bottles, oinochai, small phialai, small lekythoi, a feeding-pot, a patera-shaped phiale, a small pan and a kantharos), a glass vase (alabastron), twenty-four terracotta figurines (standing and seated women, protomes, a standing young man, Atis, Eros and a dancer) and more than ten types of gold pieces of jewellery (diadem, two pairs of earrings, a bracelet, a ring, buttons, a necklace with gold and gilt clay beads).The finds date the grave, whose lateral walls were painted, to the third quarter of the 4th century B.C.
