An early Christian private house in the upper city of Thessaloniki

In 1989 the remains of a private Early Christian house with mosaic floors were discovered in Cheironos street in the upper city (Ano Polis) of Thessaloniki, during arescue excavation. It consists of a central room (triklinon) and three lateral rooms. Justa little evidence concerning its construction was preserved, while the mosaic floors were found in good condition: the decoration is geometric, and the coins discovered below date them to the end of the 4th century A.D.
