Ancient Olynthus : methodology of restoration of houses on the northern hill

The archaeological site of the northern hill of ancient Olynthus posed serious problems concerning the conservation of the finds and their under­standing by the visitors. These led the 16th Ephorate of Prehistoric and Classical Antiquities of an overall programme concerning the restoration, protection and reevaluation of the monuments. The careful excavation and the detailed drawing of the finds contributed to the scientific restoration of the plan of building block AVII to its original appearance, when it was discovered by D. Robinson
