From the excavation to the exhibition : museological parameters of the temporary exhibition “Kalindoia, an ancient city in Macedonia”

The presentation deals with the museological questions regarding the first temporary exhibition of the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki, since its reopening in 2006. The exhibitions theme was the excavation results of an important archaeological site of central Macedonia, which has been excavated in the past few years (2003 to this day) and has not been included in the renewed Museum’s permanent exhibition halls. We trace the exhibitions narrative course, citing its accompanying texts, documenting its cinematic documentation and presenting its published catalogue. Concurrently, a reasoned justification of our final museological and museographic choices is offered.
