Abstract:
A cist grave with unusual bronze jewelry has been excavated at Romano, Ioannina. The finds are : a bracelet made out of a thick strip with one end terminating in a spiral, the other in a hook (figs. 1,2, plan 2); two rings of simple bronze bands, open-ended (fig. 3, plan 3 ) ; a hammered bronze ring with the ends in the form of spirals making a figure eight ( fi g. 3 ), and two spirals of fine-bronze wire (fig. 3, plan 3). The grave is difficult to date because there is no pottery, but with the aid of parallels from Epirus and Vergina it can be placed after the end of the bronze age, probably in the Protogeometric Period.
