Note on a sherd from the village Dhritsa, Boeotia

Fig. 1 and plan 1 show a coarse April 1969 ). Although the incisedtile sherd from Dhritsa, Boeotia ( found design on the sherd may be nothing more than a modern « doodle », there is every chance that it is of genuine antiquity, being found on the site of an acropolis, frequently identified with the ancient settlement of Heleon, and one which has produced sherds of virtually all periods from Prehistoric times down to the Middle Ages.
