Remains of a byzantine church in Nike street

In Athens, at No. 27 Nike Street, was discovered the SE half of a church of a single-nave with a semicircular sacred apse. The temple, of the 15th- 16th century, occupied the central section of another pre-existing three-part church, built ( before the 1 Oth century ) on the foundations of the fortifications of the ancient city. The problem concerns the disappearance of the church of the Holy Theodores (figs. 1-5; plans 1 - 2).
