Greek bibliography of one-act plays of the 19th century

The considerable number of one-aqt theatrical plays of the 19in century, which wereperformed at the end of dramas and tragedies and published either independently or in journals and newspapers of that period, motivated the editor of the present bibliography to; undertake the initiative to register the titles of those plays, The research revealed a number of titles sprpassing the expectations of the researcher. The aim of this bibliography is to present a poorly studied sector of the 19th century's theatrical literature, the size of which should no longer be considered as insignificant; also, to create a tool for scientific research that could prove to be worthwhile for further study, division in periods, grouping according to genre and subject of the plays and finally to evaluate them.The present bibliography includes 698 entries, which were recorded by the editor after long research in important libraries of Athens and in special collections. Additions, corrections and a catalogue of monologues and dialogues will be published into the next issue of “Parabasis”.
