Abstract:
The recent publication of the Greek Bibliography 1864-1900, by Philippos Hiliou and Popi Polemi (Athens, 2006) provides the motivation for a general overview of the published bibliography of theatrical plays in the Greek language during this period.The authors of the present article, based on the said publication as well as on other ones, register the publications of the theatrical plays year by year and proceed to a comparison with the total production of publications for each year, in an attempt to draw some first conclusions concerning the locations of publication and the classification of the dramaturgic kinds.
