Photis Kontoglou and the monk Isidores Kausokalyvitis. : their relations of mutual esteem through their texts and unpublished letters
Author:
Abstract:
The author publishes some hitherto unpublished letters from the correspondence between the Greek writer and painter Photis Kontoglou, who was inspired by Byzantine and post-Byzantine religious tradition, and the monk Isidoros Kausokalyvitis from Mount Athos. From this correspondence, as well as from other texts of Kontoglou, one can clearly observe the profound attachment, friendship and mutual esteem of the two men, united by their common faith and religiosity.
