Abstract:
The article presents the seventeenth-century wall-paintings –precisely dated or not– preserved in the churches of Veroia. It discusses the attribution of works to specific painters and workshops, and their integration in the earlier and contemporary artistic production of the city, the Greek Mainland and the border regions with the Balkans. In one case, close connections with Mt Athos have been identified, and in another with the area of Kastoria, from where the painter of St Paraskevi church seems to have come.
