Abstract:
An unknown notarial document conserved in the State Archive of Venice d. 1610 is published, which refers to a work by the painter Antonios Vassilakis. Based on the evidence in the document, the painter and his son Stefanos, a painter himself, agreed with the monks of the monastery of Santa Maria dei Carmini in Venice to paint a pala. The work no longer survives.
