• Owen Gallagher is a PhD researcher in the Faculty of Visual Culture at the NationalCollege of Art and Design, Dublin. He holds an MA in Design Communication fromthe University of Ulster and a BA in Digital Media Design and Production from LetterkennyInstitute of Technology, Donegal. He is the founder of TotalRecut.com, anonline archive of remix videos and network of remix artists, and co-founder of theRemix Theory & Praxis group and associated websites, RemixStudies.org and CriticalRemix.com. He lectures in Audio & Video, 3D Animation and Game Design in the Department of Web Media at Bahrain Polytechnic and runs a freelance design consultancycalled CHI Media. He is a member of the International Association of VisualSemiotics, has presented papers at conferences in Buenos Aires, New York, Portugal,Canada and the UK and recently contributed a chapter to The Participatory CulturesHandbook (2012).
