• Cecilia Ferm Thorgersen, PhD in Music Education, is employed as an Associate Professor at theDepartment of Education, Uppsala University and as a Visiting professor at School of Music inIngesund, Karlstad University. She graduated in June 2004 upon the thesis Openness and Awareness– A Phenomenological Study of Music Teaching and Learning Interaction. Research areas aremusical interaction, aesthetic experience and communication together with educational qualitywithin music teacher education. Writings are internationally published in for example Philosophy ofMusic Education Review, Music Education Research, Nordic Research of Music Education Yearbook,Finnish Journal of Music Education, Visions of Research in Music Education, and British Journal ofMusic Education.
