Field work in the Agora of Pella, which has been under investigation since 1980, continued during the seasons of 1991 and 1992. The main work aimed at solving problems, which arose during previous operations. Investigations in the south and east stoas concentrated in some cuts in order to clarify stratification sequence under the floors of the rooms and in one case, to check the fill in the road to the south of the Agora complex. Archaeological data produced in these cuts point to the construction of the building complex towards the end of the 4th century B.C. In a cut in the eastern stoa a fragmentary kantharos was found bearing the painted inscription ΔΙΟΣ Φ [ΙΛΙΟΥ] or Φ[ΡΑ-TPIOY], a probable indication to the cult of Zeus in the area. The structure at the south-western corner of the Agora has already been identified as a public Archive. Here work continued in a well dug through the western stylobate. Its fill contained a number of vases, such as wine amphoras, west slope vases, cups, lamps, plates etc., most of which date by coins andstamped Rhodian apmphora handles bearing the names of the fabricants Onasioikos and Polyxenos to the mid-2nd century B.C. Finally, the paper deals with the investigation of a well in the eastern stoa, room 3, filled with workshop wasters
