The excavation of the second burial mound at Toumba Paionias yielded a big, looted cist-grave. The remaining grave goods suggest a rich male burial. A stratigraphic trench was also carried out, during which the remains of two offering-fires of a funerary meal with a trapezoid construction and a red figurine like used for choae were found. A small gold sheet bearing the name of the deceased was the most interesting find
